xdbcdcsvc.exe 32-bit runs into 2GB memory limit

I am stuck at a point in my Oracle-to-SQL Server CDC process where I remain in the ABORTED state. When I start the CDC service, the xdbcdcsvc.exe 32-bit service starts to clime in private memory use until it reaches 2GBs then resets, climbs, and resets, .... until the CDC service shows ABORTED.

I am a few days behind on my Oracle archive logs. I don't know if CDC is trying to process all the changes for the days that need to be processed to get current.

Is there a way to to get my CDC to stop at an SCN or date/time so I can nibble away at my backlog.
Thank you for any help

Hello,

I tried installing Attunity SSIS oracle Adapter for VS 2015 but for some reason it does'nt show the oracle tasks in the SSIS ttolbox of Visual Studio. It worked for a few ppl and for few it is not working.

Before installing the SSIS oracle adapter, i have installed the SSIS azure feature pack for VS 2017. I am not sure if this azure feature pack is causing some issues, but i uninstalled the feature pack but the oracle tasks still dont show up.

Please help.

Thanks,

Attunity connector for SSIS 2012 in Visual Studio 2015

Hi,
We currently have SSIS 2012 packages which we have developed using Visual Studio 2010. They work fine with Attunity 2.0

We want to upgrade our development environment to Visual studio 2015 but the problem is that Attunity 2.0 doesn't support VS 2015 and throws an error. We can't use any higher versions of Attunity as they are targeted for SSIS 2014 and 2016.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mohsin

I am trying to customize my web client.
I managed to change the default.xml file and save it at ~\Repliweb\RMFT\web\b-hub\customizer\Default.xml.
Only the logo has been changed.

However, I keep getting, "The server-side file default.xml which is required to view RMFT Web Client page is currently unavailable. Please report this to your RMFT administrator"

Any idea what causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks

Hello,

I hope you can help me.

The system requirements section of the download page for “SSIS Connectors v2.0 for Oracle and Teradata” doesn’t explicitly state support for Windows Server 2012:

Please can you advise if this operating system is supported?

SSIS Oracle Source Fails with "Failed to load OCI method: OCIAttrSet"

Hi.
We are running SQL Server 2014 Enterprise and have recently changed to use the SSIS Oracle Source.

We are randomly getting the error "Failed to load OCI method: OCIAttrSet" when running our packages.
It doesn't happen all the time. It happened last night and it would have been 2 weeks since it last happened.
We never had any issues with the OLE source.

What could this be?

The server is Windows 2008 with ODAC installed.
I don't understand really why it would work 95% of the time but the other 5% fails.

Thanks

Data orchestration with Pentaho

$

We are developing a solution to replicate data from multiple Oracle sources to an S3 bucket, which is then processed by Pentaho Data Integrator and written to a Snowflake database in the cloud.

There are concerns that we could have situations where the source data dependencies aren't seen in the target DB in the right order because of the timing of writing CDC files.

For example if we have a ORDER and ORDER_DETAIL tables, and order#1 has order detail records 1A and 1B, it may be possible for the order details to be written to S3 before the order data is written for the parent record, leaving orphaned records in the S3 target. I don't know how 'smart' Replicate can be in such situations to be sure there's no orphaning done.

Can the schedule / invoking of Repliweb jobs be controlled by an outside system such as Pentaho, making PDI the orchestrator of data movement?

Why is my Attunity/Teradata SSIS connection getting slower and slower over time?

Hello, I'm using a 32bit Attunity provider and 32 bit Teradata Driver to connect to Teradata and execute a query and load that result set into a SQL Server table. Server Windows 2012R2, SQL Server 2016 SP1. For over a year I have noticed that it took this pkg 1-2 min to run, then over the last many months it now takes 30 min, and now 2.5 hr's to do the same exact thing. And only on this one package. Nothing about the drivers, providers has changed. The Teradata system is still high speed and a performance bottle neck. Nor is the SQL serve itself, nothing else is competing for resources including network bandwdith. Where and how can I go about investigating why it has become so slow? Thanks

Attunity IMS module DFSFLGX0 S0C4 abend on IBM mainframe

$

We are not using the IMS CDC component but we noticed that when we upgraded from Attunity 5.3.3 to 5.3.4 on the IBM z/OS mainframe that the DFSFLGX0 module was placed in the Attunity LOAD library (it was not there under 5.3.3). Now we are getting S0C4's in this module. Why did this module get installed as we are not using the IMS CDC component (we are only capturing DB2 z/OS changes, not IMS changes) and why is it getting invoked?

Any help would be much appreciated.

We have test jobs that are abending and also when we bring up the test IMS control region we get the following messages:

hi we use oracle as a source and sql server as target. we would like to automate using batch files (since we do not have AEM) or any other good method the shutdown of tasks and then the restart with timestamp.

Is this possible? are there some examples somewhere that I could use as a template?

thank you!

When I need new endpoints, How do I add new endpoints ?

$

Hi,
I know Attunity replicate support many endpoints but some customer want new database endpoints.
I think I use ODBC or Query base CDC are very useful for this kind of request. But datatype mapping is not easy.
So I head and get information about "provider syntax". but it is v3.1 and I think a little bit different with v 5.x (latest version 5.5)
Does anyone have newer and detail documentation about "provider syntax" ?

command getprovidersyntax:
request arguments:
syntax_name:optional string ==> I need all and detail list of syntax_name
database_name:optional string ==> I need all and detail list of database_name

command putobject:
request arguments:
task:optional string
component_name:optional string
object_name:optional string
object_type:required int32
version_description:optional string
data:required object

Thank you.

Hi
I found user guide mentioned "Internal Parameters" but user guide does not explain and listed about "Internal Parameters".
Who know about "Internal Parameters" of each endpoints ?
In my experience (I have worked for a global S/W vendor support team), some "Internal Parameters" are very useful and reduced support requests.
Could you let me know ?

Thank you.

Error starting Attunity UI

Hi

It's my first post and my first experience with Attunity.

I'm running 2x Windows Server 2016 with SQL Server 2016 servers.

I've installed Attunity Express on the first server and trying to get it running. I hit issues around ports used (as this server already runs a web site) but have got past those issues with some tweaking the config and help from the other posts in the forum.

Now I'm facing an issue where I can't open the web console. I get prompted for my login details, enter them and it takes several minutes showing "Waiting" in the web browser and then gives an error

  • Refresh the page in a few minutes.

  • Check that all network cables are plugged in.
  • Verify that airplane mode is turned off.
  • Make sure your wireless switch is turned on.
  • See if you can connect to mobile broadband.
  • Restart your router.

Data import from Teradata to SQl Server using Attunity fails with MaxSession = 1

Hi All,

I'm trying to import data from teradata to Sql server using Microsoft SSIS connector by Attunity. The rsultset is about 220M records. Below scenarios are happening:
1. the Attunity data source property MaxSession = 1 and SSIS is run using the SQL Server agent job the job fails after importing about 210M records with the error message "Unexpected Termination". No more error message.
2.the Attunity data source property MaxSession = 8 and SSIS is run using the SQL Server agent job the job succeeds
3.the Attunity data source property MaxSession = 1 and SSIS is run locally through visual studio and the SSIS package run succeeds.

Is there any chance anybody can explain what exactly MaxSession setting does and why these different behaviours.

below are our system configurations:

SQL Server 2016 Enterprise Edition SP1
Microsoft SSIS connector by Attunity v4.0
Teradata 15.10.0503 15.10.05.03B
ODBC 14.10.00.03
Visual Studio 2015

Thanks in advance,
Nima

Encryption of credentials transmitted between client and Teradata database

Hi,

We plan to use the Microsoft Connector for Teradata by Attunity 3.0 - 32 -bit to connect using LDAP authenticaqtion from a SSIS package to a Teradata database.

Is there an option to transmit the credentials in an encrypted form? if so how can that option be switched on and what encryption mechanism is used?

Thanks

File Channel - Target File Cleanup

$

Hello,

I'm currently working with a customer that's utilizing File Channel (FC) to move data into The Cloud. They're using FC because of it's one-to-many functionality.

Because one Target endpoint will be feeding many tasks we can't have "Delete processed files" enabled. Because of this we need a method for removing processed files.

We have learnt that there's a naming convention for Full Load files so we can safely delete them:

Code:

The first 8 numbers in the directory name are the id of the table and the last numbers are timestamp in hex. If you look at the replicate log you can see that every table gets a unique numeric id.
For example, in the following message from the log:
00004256: 2017-08-15T16:12:55 [TASK_MANAGER ]I: Start loading table 'TEST'.'NATION' (Id = 2) by subtask 2. Start load timestamp 000556CA8973BF40 (replicationtask_util.c:1040)

you can see that the table: TEST.NATION got id=2 so the first 8 characters of the load library that includes the table will be 2: load00000002xxxxxxx (xxx is timestamp in hex).

And:

Code:

Following the example I gave in my last comment the FL directory name that was created is:
load00000002000556CA8973BF40
(as you can see the id correlates to table is and the timestamp correlates to the start load timestamp.

So, my question is: does anyone have any experience creating scripts/processes for removing processed CDC files?

Thanks in advance,

Nigel.

Deleting Tables From an Attunity Replicate Task

$

I have a task that is configured to replicate about 1,000 tables. I now need to remove about 200 of these tables from this task configuration. I need to repeat this and so I do not want to do this through the GUI. Instead, I want to script this. I do not want to export the task config, edit the JSON file and then import the task config.

I see that there is a CLI command called DELETESOURCETABLES. Can I use this command for this purpose? I am wary of the name and the fact that the Attunity Replicate account has sysadmin privileges on the SQL Server source; and I don't want to be actually deleting the table on the source.

Any help/advise would be much appreciated.
